For some strange, inexplicable reason, the line at his register is always the longest at Usdan. He is on a first-name basis with many students, and is a known figure around campus. With Chris' presence, the dining hall will never be the same again.

Years at Brandeis: one
Role at Brandeis: cashier in Usdan

Q; What is the best perk of the job?
A: The free food, and I meet lots of people, new faces every day. That's pretty sweet.

Q: What's the most difficult part?
A: My job is really not difficult.

Q: Maybe the hours?
A: Yeah, I do work a lot, 36 hours a week. I work Sunday to Thursday every week.

Q: Do you feel like you're friends with Brandeis students?
A: Yeah, it's more than just, "Hi, how are you?"

Q: Do you know people's names?
A: Not everyone. I always remember a face, but not a name.

Q: Do you mind that people call you the Usdan guy?
A: No, people want to know who you are. It's mysterious.

Q: How do you spend your time away from Brandeis?
A: Writing, snowboarding, going out with friends. When I'm not working, I'm also doing work for school. Seeing as it's wintertime, I'm on the slopes a lot. I like going to hear local music. I'm going to a Staind concert on the 14th.

Q: You mentioned school. Where do you go to school?
A: I take classes at Northeastern; it's my first year. I'm an English major. I want to be a photojournalist. I'm also taking photography classes, but not at Northeastern.

Q: What's your funniest Brandeis story?
A: Hmm... I'm not supposed to interact with students; if I get caught on campus or in the dorms, it's a bad thing.

Q: What's your favorite movie?
A: Fear, with Mark Wahlberg. I love that movie, with the roller coaster scene. And also Empire Records.

Q: What's your favorite band?
A: I like so many things. I'm a big fan of local music, like Staind.

Q: What do you think of Brandeis students?
A: They have great personalities, friendly and energetic. I've made some really great friends.

Q: Any closing words?
A: No, I'm good.
