Novus guide may be scrapped

Aaron Gaynor '07, Union vice president, was appointed chief of elections for the spring election season. Candidates can sign up to run for Union Office until 7 p.m. on March 12.

Kimberlee Bachman '08, junior representative to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, announced the UCC had approved six new study-abroad programs, including the University's first program in Poland.

She said there are plans for a survey asking students about their reasons for triple majoring. But, She reported that under no circumstances will triple majoring be abolished.

Union President Alison Schwartzbaum '08 announced a plan to put television sets on the Rabb steps to show BTV:65 progamming and other announcements. The sets will run on new software that will also be implemented on the Usdan and Shapiro TVs.

Schwartzbaum reported on efforts to make the bathrooms in the new residence halls environmentally friendly.

Director of Communications Brian Paternostro '07 brought up the possibility of working to redesign the roommate selection form for first year students.

The Senate tabled a proposed bylaw change that would remove sections detailing club responsibilities and reasons for the Senate to decharter clubs.

Senator-at-Large Andrew Brooks '09, sponsor of the bylaw amendment, argued that the book often has been a failure and was redundant. Students now can use Facebook.com for the same information, he said.
