A front-page article this month about the 15th anniversary of the Intercultural Center incorrectly described a committee to which a former student who spoke at the event belonged. The student, Anthony Brooks '92, was on a committee that campaigned for an African Cultural Center, but students have advocated for such a center dating back to the late 1960s. Brooks' committee was not the orignal committee that pushed for the Center's formation. (Mar. 6, p. 1)
Because of an editing error,
an article last week in News about the human papillomavirus vaccinations reported incompletely the cost of Gardisil, the HPV vaccine, for students. The vaccine is provided at cost to those students who have University insurance, but students with outside insurance are given a receipt for reimbursement. (Mar. 20, p. 3)
A front-page article last week about the resignation of two Student Union election commissioners misattributed a quote about a presidential candidate. Albert Cahn '07, the senior representative to the Board of Trustees, said "Sinha shouldn't use our work to get a leg up on her opponents," referring to candidate Shreeya Sinha '09. It was not Director of Academic Affairs Jason Brodsky who said that. (Mar. 20, p. 6)
Because of an editing error, >an article last week in Features about midyear students misspelled in some references the surname of a midyear student. He is Vikram Sinha's '07, not Sinja. (Mar. 20, p. 7)
Because of a production error, the Athlete of the Week photo in sports last week and the week before carried incorrect credits. The photos were taken by David Sheppard-Brick, not Lisa Nahill. (Mar. 20, p. 15)
Because of an editing error, a photo caption last week in Arts accompanying an article about Adagio's spring show referred incorrectly to the choreography of the dance 'Flashback!' It was choreographed by Julia Sokolyansky '09, not Emma Cohen '09.(Mar. 20, p. 19)
The Union Senate log last week incorrectly reported who sponsored two changes to the Student Union bylaws. Senator-at-Large Andrew Brooks '09 was actually the sponsor of those bylaw changes, and he requested that they be tabled due to low attendance at last Sunday's meeting. Senator-at-Large Shreeya Sinha '09 was not the sponsor. (Mar. 20, p. 2)
Because of an editing error, a news article last week about the possibility of discontinuing production of the NOVUS, the first-year handbook, incorrectly referred to the state of the legislation. The bylaw has not been voted on. (Mar. 20, p. 5)
Because of an editing error, in the same article it was incorrectly stated when the decision to stop giving monetary awards to professors was announced. That decision was made last month, not earlier this month. (Mar. 20, p . 5)
