Construction on a new dining facility in the Village is slated to begin this semester and open in January, Vice President of Campus Operations Mark Collins said.
The eatery will offer "late-night" dining options, Collins said.
The space has been unoccupied since the building's completion in 2003 and has been left empty because the project budget could not cover its completion at the time.
The Activist Resource Center campaigned for the space last March, but didn't receive it because administrators determined that renovating the room into a space for that group would be too costly. Other suggested at the time that the space should be used for more housing.
