Members of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee asked if senators had any questions for them to address in upcoming meetings.

Hiatt Career Center Joseph DuPont addressed the senate about his first days at Brandeis and solicited the senate's opinion on what it would like to see improved.

The Russian Club requested and received approval for changes to its purpose, in order to better specify what the club tries to accomplish.

Secretary Michael Goldman '08 presented Rajiv Ramakrishnan '10 as the assistant secretary of technology. Ramakrishnan and Senator for the Transitional Year Program Kamarin Lee '11 were sworn in.

Brandeis Students Against the Judge Rotenberg Center requested to be chartered. The motion passed after a discussion about whether or not the club needed funds. Some senators wanted to wait to give the club recognition until after the club's protest Nov. 4.

Members of the Union Judiciary spoke to the Senate about two advisory cases brought to them in the past week. After consulting the constitution, the Judiciary determined that they do not have the power to make advisory decisions and retracted the recent decisions. The Judiciary suggested creating a legal position on the Executive board to advise the senators or amending the Constitution to allow the Judiciary to do so.

A bylaw preventing breaches of security during elections was presented to the Senate by Senator for the Class of 2008 Asher Tanenbaum and Senator-at-Large Andrew Brooks '09. The senate decided to add the clause to the bylaw.

Brooks, Senator-at-Large Jessica Blumberg '09 and Senator for the Class of 2008 Darren Gallant presented a second bylaw amending the non-exclusivity clause in the Constitution, adding more specifics including "gender identity and expression, genetic information and veteran status." Both bylaws will be voted on in next week's senate meeting.
