Library fines can be paid with Whocash

Provost Mary Krauss informed senators of the plan to put course evaluations online this semester. Evaluation will become available two weeks after Thanksgiving. She said the evaluations play a large role in determining faculty promotions, salary increases and decisions about tenure tracks.

Student Union Vice President Alex Braver '09 reported that library fines can now be paid with WhoCash.

Student Union Director Sridatta Mukherjee '09 reported that the naming contest for the new Village diner would take place online as well as with suggestion boxes in Sherman, Usdan and Einstein Bros eateries.

Student Union Director of Union Affairs Jason Gray '10 and Student Union President Shreeya Sinha '09 reported that Sinha successfully lobbied the University Administration to add another student representative to the new Firearms Advisory Committee. The Student Union will select two students in addition to Sinha to serve on the committee.

The senate confirmed Rebecca Wilkof '10, Senator for Castle, Elyssa Cohen '08 and Laura Cohen '09 as Communiversity coordinator, Project Brandeis University Committee Non-senate Chair and Services Committee Non-senate Chair, respectively.

The Senate approved a change to BTV's constitution, adding a byline emphasizing the club's duty to broadcast original programming to the Brandeis community through various outlets, as the club shifts its focus to online video.

The Senate recognized The Floor is Lava, a long-form sketch comedy club, Brandeis University for John Edwards and the Mixed Heritage Club.

Sinha and Gray informed the senate that Student Events had illegally approached Vice President for Students and Enrollment Jean Eddy about receiving funding directly from the Student Activities Fee instead of going through the Finance Board.
