Treasurer to award best managed club

Union Treasurer Choon Woo Ha'08 reported on his club-leaders information session. At the end of this semester he will present awards to the three best financially managed clubs.
Union President Shreeya Sinha '09 and Senator for the Class of 2008 Asher Tanenbaum said Vice President for Campus Operations Mark Collins agreed to bring car-sharing service Zipcar to Brandeis.
The Senate chartered the Fashion Design club, which plans to teach students to sew, provide access to sewing machines to more advanced students and aims to put on fashion shows that could include charity auctions of the sewn items.
The Senate recognized the Running and Racing club, which aims to provide space for all students to go running at their own pace both competitively and noncompetitively.
The Senate recognized Colleges against Cancer, a club affiliated with the American Cancer Society that plans to educate the campus community about the illness.
Castle Senator and Communiversity coordinator Rebecca Wilkof '10 reported that 227 people had signed up for 24 Communiversity classes.
Senator for the Class of 2009 Yuki Hasegawa announced his resignation as chair of the Services Committee after the committee's planning failures last semester.
Senator for the Class of 2010 and Executive Senator Jenna Brofsky reported that LaundryView, which shows the availability of washing machines online, is now available in East Quad.
Senators expressed anger about the campuswide e-mail from Vice President for Students and Enrollment Jean Eddy in which she defends her decision to allow the Department of Student Activities to oversee Student Events' funding rather than the Student Union Finance Board.
A resolution by Ziv Quad Senator Justin Sulsky '09 to support the displays of flags conforming to regulations in Rights and Responsibilities was rejected by the Senate.
