BaRuCH first-year fiesta

Ash Wednesday

Mass will be held for Ash Wednesday. Wednesday from 12:10 to 12:45 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. in the Bethlehem Chapel. For more information, contact Reverend Walter Cuenin at (781) 736-3570.



'The 11th Hour'

Written and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, The 11th Hour is a film about the challenges and opportunities of climate change. It ends with a vision of what a sustainable society could look like and how this is an opportunity to rethink our relations with the planet and each other. Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. in Gerstenzang 123.

Blood drive

Come donate blood. Sign up ahead of time in Usdan during lunch. Walk-ins also accepted if time permits. Food and drinks available. Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Hassenfeld Conference Center.



Mitzvah clown training

Learn how to be a mitzvah clown. The clowns entertain children in hospitals and homeless shelters as well as residents in nursing homes and homes for the disabled. You must attend a training session before you can clown. Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hillel Lounge in the Usdan Student Center. Mr. Brandeis Pageant

Peers Education about Responsible Choices presents the second annual Mr. Brandeis Pageant. Come watch as Brandeis' best vie for the title of Mr. Brandeis 2008. Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Carl J. Shapiro theater. For more information, contact ashs09@brandeis.edu.



Lunar New Year celebration

The Brandeis Chinese Cultural Connection's celebration of the Lunar New Year encompasses dance, legend and modernity through an evening of performance. Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Carl J. HaDag Nachash

Funk/hip-hop/rock/reggae fusion band HaDag Nachash will play a concert. Sponsored by Hillel at Brandeis, Taglit-Birthright Israel Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed initiative, Student Events and Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Oranim Educational Initiatives and MASA. Monday from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Levin Ballroom in Usdan Student Center.
