Union to hold a 'meet the senators' event

Racial Minority Senator Gabe Gaskins '08 reported that an event titled "Meet the Senators" will take place next week from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday in the Shapiro Atrium.
Student Union Vice President Alex Braver '09 reported that use of the printers and copy machines in the libraries is now payable with WhoCash.
Union Advocate Brian Paternostro '08 proposed reviving projects taken up by older Union administrations such as establishing a core committee of students to assist the Department of Student Activities in leadership training.
Union Secretary Nelson Rutrick '09 said Senior Vice President for Students and Enrollment Jean Eddy informed him by e-mail that he could no longer send campuswide e-mail for purposes other than the weekly announcements and elections information.
The Senate dechartered Students for a Free Tibet and Romp magazine.
The Senate approved a bylaw amendment giving the chairperson of the Senate's Social Justice Committee more discretion.
The Senate tabled a bylaw removing the senate's obligation to fund senior programs and the Jr./Sr. formal that are now funded by other departments.

Senator-at-Large Andrew Brooks '09 reported that he will send out a survey, asking students which locations on campus they would prefer for a new flagpole to fly the American flag.
