Aramark administrators promise dining changes

The Senate passed a resolution of solidarity with the student government of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, whose student body president, Eve Carson, was murdered March 5.
After much discussion, the Senate postponed indefinitely a motion to debate a resolution wishing a happy 60th birthday to Israel.
Senator for the Class of 2008 Asher Tanenbaum reported that he is working on crafting a constitutional amendment creating an order of succession for the Union Treasurer.
Senator for the Foster Mods Tania Kupferman '08 reported that money procured by the Union from Residence Life for a party in that quad had instead been allocated to have residents host professors.
Senator for the Class of 2010 Jenna Brofsky reported that Aramark administrators were upset about photos showing dining areas understocked at night and promised changes. She added that there would be a one-day trial run during which Usdan would offer cage-free eggs.
The Senate passed a bylaw removing the Senate's obligation to fund senior programs and the Jr./Sr. Formal, which are now funded by other departments.
The Senate tabled a bylaw requiring Union executive board members to report to the Senate at least every second meeting.
