To the Editor:
Executive Vice President Peter French deserves much credit for great work that he's done at Brandeis during his tenure ("Executive Vice President Peter French to retire in June 2009," April 1 issue). In particular, he and his staff did an outstanding job in the spring of 2005 working with the Brandeis Labor Coalition and Service Employees International Union Local 615 to forge an agreement to ensure that Brandeis' custodial employees are all compensated sufficiently and fairly. I would like to congratulate Executive Vice President French on a job well done and to encourage the entire Brandeis administration to work to continue his ambitious efforts to improve our school and honor our founding social justice legacy.
