The Senate tabled a bylaw change that would extend the deadline of submitting Senate agenda items from four days prior to each Senate meeting to three days.

Graham Miller '09, Union representative of the Alumni Association, discussed with the Senate the changes made to the budget due to the financial status of the University. Reversible amenities, such as travel for the professors, are the main items that will be cut from the budget. He said that student programs and scholarship programs will not be cut.

Jenna Brofsky '10 and Jenna Rubin '11, co-chairs of the University Dining Services Committee, reported on progress made to improve dining options. Sandwiches and Bistro salads have now been added as C-meal approved items to the menu at Einstein Bros. Bagels. They are working on having vegan entrees and microwaveable and C-meal-approved meals available in the Provisions on Demand Market. They also discussed the possibility of adding a '5 and 5' menu in the Stein, where there are five entrees on the menu priced at $5 and served in five minutes. Nutrition facts will also be posted soon in Einstein's and Quiznos.

The Senate created a Task Force on Bicycle Rentals, which includes Senator for the Class of 2010 Paul Balik and Castle Quad Senator Nathan Robinson '11, as well as students from Prof. Laura Goldin's American Studies class "Greening the Campus and Community."

Senator for the Class of 2012 Supreetha Gubbala has secured a shuttle to take students to New York City over Thanksgiving break. She is also working on establishing a larger group of people to push for better disability services in the Health Center.

Student Union President Jason Gray '10 has ordered 500 "Know Your Rights" magnets so students are aware of their rights and the availability of confidential peer-to- peer assistance through the Student Union Office of Student Rights and Advocacy.

Gray met with Stephanie Grimes, director of Student Activities, in order to evaluate unused space and put together a document listing all unused spaces on campus.
