Medical Emergency
Oct. 27-A party reported that an 18-year-old male student in North Quad was experiencing head, neck and back pain after having gone sailing. The student was transported via ambulance to the Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Oct. 28-A student on the soccer field at Gosman Sports and Convocation Complex was suffering from a possible dislocated shoulder injury. The student was transported to the Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Oct. 29-A student in Ziv Quad had a headache and a fever. BEMCo responded. The student was transported to the Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Oct. 30-Staff from the Psychological Counseling Center reported that a non-violent female patient was going to a voluntary psych evaluation. The patient was transported to the Newton Wellesley Hospital. University Police assisted the situation.
Oct. 31-A student in Massell Quad reported that he cut his finger. BEMCo responded and treated him on-scene with a signed refusal for further care.
Traffic
Oct. 29-There was a minor accident as a University vehicle was exiting the East Quad roadway. The driver stated that there was a mechanical failure of the braking system, which caused him to hit a rock, which caused the air bag deployment. No injuries were sustained.
Oct. 30-A mirror on a Brandeis van was struck while the van was off-campus. University Police compiled a report.
Oct. 31-A party notified University Police that his vehicle and BranVan #56 were involved in a minor motor vehicle accident on the corner of South St. and Angleside Road. University Police compiled a report on the accident.
Larceny
Oct. 27-A party in Massell Quad reported that his video iPod was stolen. University Police compiled a report.
Oct. 29-A party reported that her bicyle was stolen from the area around the Squire Bridge. Her bike was last seen Oct. 22 parked at the racks by the bridge.
Oct. 29-The assistant food service director of Usdan Student Center reported that a laptop was stolen from the food service staff. University Police compiled a report.
Miscellaneous
Oct. 29-A party reported that a large group of about 15 students was crowded behind Lown. Upon University Police's response, the group of students ran; one party was stopped. The party explained that the others ran because they became frightened when they saw the police. The party also stated that they are a student group that advocates against "police interference." The party was advised to refrain from meeting in the manner in which they did.
Oct. 29-A graduate student reported a case of e-mail fraud that occurred with CareerServices.com. He reported that he sent three checks totaling $2,500 to an overseas outfit in Nigeria. University Police will investigate.
Nov. 1-University compiled a report on a broken window in Rosenthal Quad. It resulted from a beer bottle that was thrown through the window.
Nov. 1-University Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police, investigated a suspicious package received on Oct. 31 by offices in Bernstein-Marcus. A report was compiled.
